PAYMENT OF CONSULAR FEES

Since April 1st, 2012 a consular fee must be paid for consular services provided at the Costa Rican Embassy in Berlin.

Exception: The consular fee for services provided by the Honorary Consulates in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Leipzig or Lahr must be paid at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Costa Rica (Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto). Payment Procedure

  1. 1. On the day of your appointment at the Embassy, you must submit proof of the deposit– copy of the online transaction or deposit slip from the bank - made to the account in Euros of the Embassy of Costa Rica in Berlin. The deposit must be made in the same month of your appointment at the Embassy. Exception: In the case of request of a new passport and/or a renewal, proof of the deposit must be sent along the documents submitted with the application.
  2. Please plan accordingly, since the deposit must show at the account (the consul must be able to see the entry of your payment through the online-banking of the account) the day of your appointment.
  3. Please make a separate payment for each transaction indicating the reason for the payment.
  4. The costs of the transactions are established in US$, therefore, the exchange rate (established monthly) must be considered when making the payment. The monthly exchange rate will be indicated at the table below.

Important Note: Payments will NOT be reimbursed in case of having been wrongly deposited.

    •  November 2017: 1 Euro = 1,17 US-Dollar
